The food was delicious and the couple who own the cafe were super accommodating. The coffee was great and served in Hagi pottery.

商店街を歩いているとお店の雰囲気につられて入ってみることに。どれも美味しそうで迷いましたが、ルーロー飯と台湾風あえめんをいただきました！美味しくて最高でした！

After sightseeing in Hagi, we were looking for a place to have lunch. Luckily, we found Yamamichi Shokudo. The interior looks nice with its heavy wooden tables, and the kitchen is right in the restaurant. Obviously, they cook the food fresh, as some items were sold out by around 3 PM. We ordered the ginger pork set meal (Shōgayaki teishoku). Since it was hot outside, we appreciated the cooled free water. The set meal consisted of a plate of ginger pork, a bowl of rice, eggplant in a broth, glass noodle salad (harusame sarada), Japanese-style potato salad, and miso soup. The ginger pork had a nice ginger taste combined with a roasted aroma. On the same plate was a little shredded cabbage with a light vinaigrette. The potato salad had egg, cucumber, and ham in it, combined with a creamy mayonnaise. The miso soup was basic, but was a good way of neutralizing the taste buds when trying the different flavors. The eggplant was prepared in a way I hadn't had so far, in a tasty bonito broth. The glass noodle salad contained cucumber and carrots. The dressing was quite vinegar-heavy, which gave it a sour aroma—but not too much. The staff was very friendly. We spent a nice lunch at Yamamichi—and definitely recommend this place!

初めて来ました。 萩のお店は水曜定休が多く、行った日が水曜日だったので、お昼ご飯に困っていて、見つけました。 商店街を抜けてすぐのところにあるので、道にはあ まり迷わないと思います。 ただ、駐車場は無いので、業務スーパー前のたまち駐車場に車を止めて、そこから歩いて行きます。 生姜焼き定食を頂きました とてもご飯が進みました！ 今までで、一番美味しい生姜焼きでした！ ちなみに、麺以外はテイクアウトもできるそうです！ 店内に本の交換スペースがあり、本を二冊寄付すると、そこのスペースにある本を一冊もらえます 一冊頂きました！ ご馳走様でした

夫とランチで初めて行きました。 駐車場がないので、業務スーパーの駐車場に停めました。 4人掛けテーブル席が3つ、2人ぐらいのローテブルのソファー席が1つ、カウンター席はなしで店内はそんなに広くないので長居はできないです。 私達が入店した時は満席だったので、入ってすぐの待合席に案内されましたが狭いので2人が限界。 店の外にもベンチがありました。 料理提供までに時間がかかる声かけがありましたが、そんなに待たされた感はなかったです。 料理は美味しかったです。 支払いは現金のみでした。 機会があったらまた行きたいと思います。

We had lunch here on 11 Feb 2025. We waited for a while as there’re 4 table only and no table sharing. I think it’s worth after I tasted their foods, the taste far exceeds the price. I had their weekly set which had chicken as the main, that’s tasty and soft. The side dishes are also delicious. Also, although the washroom is small but clean.

Small restaurant in the center. The food was very good and the service fast Nice atmosphere, it's pretty cute.

萩旅行の際に立ち寄り。週替わり定食は「豚バラの巻き焼き1,050円（名前うろ覚えですが）」でした。 支払いは現金のみ。座席は4テーブルしかないので、平日でも開店から混みがち。 メインは香ばしくジューシーで、ご飯がどんどん進む味付け。副菜もポテサラ、春雨サラダ、茄子とピーマンの煮浸しなど手作り感があって、家庭的ながら満足感しっかり。味噌汁も優しい味でほっとします。 ただ、量は少し少なめかな？男性なら腹6〜7分目という感じ。 接客は奥さんがサバサバとした雰囲気で、それもまた地元食堂らしくて良かったです。 旅行途中に立ち寄るのにちょうどいい、落ち着いた定食屋さんでした。 近所にあったら毎週通いたい。
